Ride Noho's June Climbing Adventure

June 21 through 24, 2012

Prepare to test yourself on some of the most challenging climbs that western Massachusetts has to offer. Ride Noho has carefully crafted a package that includes four days of great riding with a bent toward going uphill.

Aldo Tiboni and Elaine Formica, Ride Noho proprietors, will greet you when you arrive on Wednesday evening, June 20, 2012. After four days of unforgettable riding, eating and relaxing, you’ll depart after lunch on Sunday, June 24.

We have some great climbing here in western Massachusetts, and we can’t wait to share it with you. From the 15% steeps to the miles of long steady climbs, this weekend is about experiencing the contentment that can only come from accomplishment, and accomplishment that can only come from overcoming significant challenges.

When you are not climbing, you will have plenty of time to take advantage of all else that Northampton has to offer. Enjoy the blend of boutique shopping, renowned local cuisine and wonderful cultural activities that have made our Paradise City famous.

Thursday, Day 1 - Lake Wyola - 52 Miles, 2900 Feet

We'll breakfast at the famous Sylvester's Restaurant, located in what was the home of Sylvester Graham who is remembered mainly for the cracker that bears his name. Following breakfast, we’ll be on the bikes for some long, steady climbs and lots of spectacular scenery. This ride starts out being fairly flat as it takes us accross the river and eventually climbs to the Eastern Upland and by Lake Wyola with a stop for some delicious baked goods at the Leverett Village Coop. We love this coop! Aldo is already looking forward to that chocolate croissant.

Friday, Day 2 - Three Walls with an added twist! - 51 Miles, 4800 Feet

After a hearty breakfast at Sylvester's we'll head out on an extended version of our famous Three Walls route. With a bit of additional fun added to a ride that already features three long, steep climbs, this one will surely get you out of the saddle! Upon our return we'll shower and head off to a wonderful lunch at Fitwilly's Restaurant. Come late afternoon, the quaint town of Northampton invites you to spend an evening of visiting museums, shopping, and relaxing (naptime?). And of course, enjoying the restaurant of your choice.

Saturday, Day 3 - Epic Saturday, a Variation on a Theme - 70 Miles, 7400 Feet

This is the big one! This ride includes the spectacular 15 mile Skyline Trail with its endless climbs and descents. Then, we'll throw in some more long, steady climbs and a final 12+ percenter out of the Chesterfield Gorge. This ride is supported with a fully stocked van and friendly guides that will allow you to go at your own pace. We've received rave reviews from our guests, so we know that you’ll love it!

Sunday, Day 4 - Recovery to the Book Mill - 40 Miles, 1200 Feet

A recovery ride at a leisurely pace is the perfect ride for today. We will explore the back roads to and from the Montague Book Mill, where we will stop, refuel and explore before heading back to our home destination, Northampton. Lunch at Fitzwillie's, a local favorite will be a great place to end a great adventure. Departure is after lunch.

Along with this great event, we’ll be offering B paced rides on flatter courses for those who might want a more sedate way to spend the weekend!
