If you like cycling and wine, this is the trip for you! Open to all levels of riders, this weekend getaway offers something for everyone, from a challenging fun ride to a flat, easy spin. On Saturday, the group will reunite as we culminate our cycling adventures with a picnic lunch and wine tour/tasting at Black Birch Vineyard, home to hand-pressed signature wines. This small family owned winery sits on a sun-drenched hillside in the heart of the Pioneer Valley. It is here that the group will enjoy lunch and sample wines made from grapes grown at the UMass vineyard in Belchertown and from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.
Both days start out with breakfast at the ever popular Sylvesters and include A, B and C level riding in one of the premier road cycling areas in the world.
Prepare to test yourself on some of the most challenging climbs that western Massachusetts has to offer. Ride Noho has carefully crafted a package that includes four days of great riding with a bent toward going uphill.
Parlee Cycles and Ride Noho are extending an invitation to all Parlee owners, their family and friends to a Parlee Owners' Weekend including great riding and mingling with Bob Parlee and his staff Tom Rodi and Steve Fairchild and more. The details are currently being worked out, but you can expect to have fun this weekend. As you know, in March of 2006, Ride Noho and Parlee Cycles teamed up to launch an innovative demo program. This program has allowed many of our guests to fall in love with one of the world’s finest machines while putting it through its paces on routes that may include thousands of feet of climbing, fast descending and hours in the saddle. The test rides are free of charge to Ride Noho guests who reserve a Parlee when they register for their stay.
Ride Noho's Pancake Weekend is all about pancake-flat riding and delicious Sylvester's pancakes. We'll be doing A and B paced flat rides after fueling-up on fresh local strawberry-topped, manhole cover sized flapjacks (if you dare).
If you enjoy riding past farmland on lightly traveled roads with views of the Connecticut River and the surrounding hills, you'll love these rides. And if you also love the taste of just-picked strawberries and real Massachusetts maple syrup, you'll love these pancakes.
Ten thousand feet, that’s a lot of climbing in 100 miles. We beta tested this beast last summer, and are ready to roll it out to you. If you really like to climb and descend, are in mid-season form, and have easy gearing – this is the event for you.
In case you missed this event last year, we are pleased to tell you that the state of Massachusetts did a great job repaving the roads in the Greylock reservation, a project that had closed those roads for two summers! The north side features 2800 feet of elevation gain in 10 miles, topping out at 3500 feet and with 15 to 20% sections that will indeed test your climbing ability. This is a world-class climb that you just have to experience (click the profile below for some cool comparisons to Tour de France climbs).
The itinerary includes a Saturday van-ride to Greylock where we'll mount the bikes for a 40-mile loop that includes the famous Greylock climb. We'll have lunch in Williamstown before piling into the vans for the drive home. On Sunday, we'll give our legs a break with an A or B paced ride to the Montague Book Mill (your choice as we'll be offering both) when we'll be able to recount our efforts from the previous day. For those that are feeling fresh, we'll include an optional climb up the access road on Mt. Sugarloaf, an uninterrupted 1.4K climb averaging 10.75%
A NEW ENGLAND AUTUMN is something to treasure. Sure it spells the end of summer but it brings with it some spectacular gifts: bright blue skies, chilly nights, the first fires, amazing foliage -- and of course, great road riding. You're fit, you're relaxed and all of your summer riding is about to pay off. Now is the time to have some fun and sample some of the best cycling that western Massachusetts has to offer.
Join Ride Noho on our Autumn Adventure, which includes two of our signature rides as well as a ride to Mount Greylock. With the roads closed for reconstruction this year, we'll ride around the highest peak in Southern New England, and be able to enjoy the wonderful views of a real giant in full autumn regalia!
"Wow, what a great job you do and what a great time we had. Great roads, great cycling and great people. We know it is your job to care for people and make them comfortable, but you are really impressive. You made us feel so welcome and genuinely befriended. That is hard to do when you see dozens of people rolling through your program."
