My First Road Bike Camp 2008
Itinerary

General Daily:
Breakfast at 7:00 a.m.
Ride time at 8:30 a.m.
Lunchtime generally at 1:00 p.m., free time from approximately 2:30 p.m.
Evening session at 5:30 p.m., Friday & Saturday. Discussion topics include:

  • Handling skills - cornering, descending, braking, etc.
  • Group riding skills - pacelines, echelons, coordination and safety
  • Climbing Skills
  • Bicycle fit
  • Basics of training philosophy
  • Bicycle maintenance
  • Review of the day's work and preview of the following day's work
Massages available upon request

Day 1 - Thursday - Arrival

Out of town participants arrive. Aldo Tiboni meets and greets each participant upon arrival.

Free time to explore and familiarize yourself with your surroundings…..Relax and enjoy!!


Day 2 - Friday - Handling, Climbing

7:00 a.m. - Meet at Sylvester's Restaurant for breakfast

8:20 a.m. - Meet in the parking lot of Hotel Northampton, dressed and ready to ride.

8:30 a.m. - Discussion and First Training Ride

Skills work will include: Bike handling - how to get the bike to do what you want it to (descending, counter-steering, leaning, braking, pedaling form), Getting dirty, and Climbing

1:00 p.m. - Lunch Fitzwillie's Restaurant

Free time

5:30 p.m. - Seminar Topics:
Bike fit and geometry, gearing, group riding skills, review of handling skills - Speaker, Aldo Tiboni - Founder of Ride Noho.


Day 3, Saturday - Group riding skills

7:00 a.m. - Meet at Sylvester's Restaurant for breakfast

8:20 a.m.- - Meet in the parking lot of Hotel Northampton, dressed and ready to ride

8:30 a.m. - Training Ride

Introduction to group riding, including pacelines, echelons, the power of the peloton, safety

1:00 p.m. - Lunch Fitzwillie's Restaurant

Free time

5:30 p.m. - Seminar Topics:
Bike maintenance - Speaker, Aldo Tiboni, and
Training philosophies. . . the basics, and review of group riding skills - Speaker - Aldo Tiboni


Day 4, Sunday - Putting it all together

7:00 a.m. - Meet at Sylvester's Restaurant on Pleasant Street for breakfast

8:20 a.m.- Meet in the parking lot of Hotel Northampton, dressed and ready to ride.

8:30 a.m. - Training Ride

Applying what we've learned on the road, practicing the skills in a variety of situations

1:00 p.m. - Lunch Fitzwillie's Restaurant

Review and wrap up of the week
Travel out after lunch.
