Our home for hiking is in the town of Evolène in the Swiss canton of Valais, located in the southwestern corner of Switzerland. Just as in our cycling events we’ll have a fixed base and this quiet beautiful village will be the center for our adventure.

Valais is home to the highest and most spectacular mountains of the Swiss Alps towering above beautiful valleys and quaint villages. Many of the snowcapped peaks of the area are more than 12,000 feet high with the highest soaring to over 15,000 feet. Views of these mountains are not only stunning, but they are very accessible as a short walk or bus ride will bring you to a trailhead for a breathtaking adventure.

On our trips there is no need to carry a heavy pack, sleep in tents or travel from inn to inn as we will hike Switzerland the Swiss Way. We will stay in a comfortable family run hotel in a quiet mountain village and carry only a day pack on our hikes.

For 2012 we are offering both a seven and a 10 day vacation option, both of which are complete with guided hiking, fascinating side trips on days off and magnificent scenery. Both the seven day and ten day trips arrive in Zurich on Sunday, July 22, 2012. The seven day trip departs from Zurich on Saturday, July 28, while the 10 day trip departs Zurich on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Either way, this is a trip of a lifetime and we’d love to share it with you.
